Lapland, Finland

The MEETING:the World team have decided that a trip to Finnish Lapland is more exciting than the concept of visiting the moon! The stunning landscape, incredible light and fabulous activities are definitely out of this World.

The Levi village and resort, only 15 minutes from Kittilä airport, has everything you need, from all the top notch kit to keep you warm to incredible business quality accommodation and conference facilities. With activities such as skiing, snowmobiling, husky cuddling (and driving of course), reindeer sleighing and even rally car driving on ice, delegates will barely pause for breath as they release their inner children and go with the relaxed Finnish flow.

We absolutely loved it, and we're sure you will too just from watch Aoife and Grace as they take in the Finnish and Sami cultures of this magical land.

Amsterdam

We thought we knew what to expect from Amsterdam, the third destination on our Meeting: the World Europe tour. But while the city certainly offered romantic canal journeys and wonderful architecture, it surprised with the its unusual and magical approach to event spaces. In the company of Eric Bakermans, Meetings & Conventions Marketing Manager for the Netherlands Board of Tourism & Convention, Aoife is given a glimpse of this historic, but thoroughly modern, city.

Switzerland

As the Meeting:the World team planned the second-leg of our European journey, we quickly realised that Switzerland was not just a destination, but a journey in itself. Across 3 days, Grace and Aoife covered 7 separate destinations in every corner of the spectacular country, and thanks to super Swiss efficiency and incomparable public transport, it wasn't remotely stressful!

Copenhagen

If you were to ask someone to design a perfect convention city, you'd probably end up with something not that dissimilar to Copenhagen. The bonus is, this city of fun was designed by Danes, arguably the most aesthetically aware people on the planet, so not only is it great to visit, it's stunning to look at.

With it's history, culture, social awareness, seamless transport systems, a world-leading attitude to the environment, beautiful hotels and venues and the best restaurant and chef in the world it really ticks every box.

Unsurprisingly, when team MEETING:the World dropped in for a visit, MeetinCopenhagen packed in every type of adventure you could imagine.

Toronto

We all know that attending an industry conference or event isn't supposed to be a holiday, but we challenge you to attend one in Toronto and not arrive home feeling like you've just had the best vacation of your life! In this young, multi-cultural, vibrant city, which is accessible by direct flight from nearly everywhere in the world, it is impossible not to enjoy yourself!

Mexico City

Mexico City dates back to 1325 when the Aztecs established it as the region's capital city. Today, still Mexico's seat of government and administration, the metropolis is steeped in Aztec and Spanish history that has shaped a lively, colourful culture that visitors can't help but get caught up in.

As well as the history and spirit (tequila anyone?) a visitor might expect, Mexico City also provides a safe, cultural, historical and modern location with first class hotels offering extensive meeting facilities, fine-dining and shopping districts dripping with international designer brands.

Jeju Island

Situated just off the southern tip of South Korea, Jeju Island is a tropical paradise for those that want their magical beaches with just a dash of modern convenience. Once merely a perfect getaway for couples and honeymooners, the Jeju Convention Bureau has worked wonders in upgrading the Island's facilities until they stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in the world.

From the magnificent ICC to the restful bonsai tree gardens, from the luxury resort hotels to the Island's Manu UNESCO world heritage sites, Aoife discovers that Jeju is a unique destination…and a fitting finale to the Asia tour.

Seoul

The South Korean capital city already has a reputation as one of the World's major modern business cities. But behind the modern, innovative architecture there is a spirit driven by ancient culture and tradition.

Taiwan

Wow, what a destination.

Taiwan took the Meeting:the World team totally by surprise, with it's lush green mountains, beautifully fresh air, amazing food, warm people and zen spirituality that chilled the whole team out.

Hong Kong

Kicking off the MEETING:the World Asia tour, Aoife and Grace head to Hong Kong, where hosts MEHK offer sights and sounds to surprise and delight!

Gauteng, South Africa

Moving inland, Aoife visits wonderful Gauteng, an area of outstanding beauty and amazing history and a vibrancy all of it's own. Whether it is downtown Johannesburg for a fashion show and market or hosting a meeting afloat on the wonderful Vaal River, Gauteng has much to boast about.

Durban KwaZulu-Natal

Durban KwaZulu-Natal is without doubt one of the warmest, friendliest places to visit whether as a vacation or meeting destination.

Thanks to recent exponential growth and redevelopment there is a whole new, inviting atmosphere in the city. Fresh from a highly successful world cup, the Moses Mahbida stadium rises white and jewel-like against the deep blues of the Indian Ocean.

A newly developed beachfront has put the zing back into the Golden Mile. A wide walkway takes you safely from the stadium area right down to Ushaka Marine Park.
